Jes Nott

Calming Textures

Outside of creating textured art, Jes enjoys spending time with her little family.

Jes first started creating textured artworks a few years ago. What started as a project to fill her own walls, but then she fell in love with the process and how creating made her feel.

Her favorite medium to create with is texture –

“The possibilities are endless”.

A version of “Slow Down” (currently on display with Singleton Framing Gallery) was actually what kicked everything off for her – it was the very first design she created. From there she has been commissioned to complete larger pieces for clients, as well as designing unique pieces for sale.

About the Artwork

Artwork Title:

Jes has titled this piece "Daintree Droplets" because "Daintree" is the shade of the deepest green, and each droplet has a portion of the green in it besides the white.

Artist Felt:

Jes finds when she is creating, she feels calmer within herself, even if it's only a few details at a time. Hence her business name "Calming Textures".

This artwork was inspired by:

"Daintree Droplets" is inspired by little actions can make a huge impact.

IS there a hidden meaning or symbolic element?

Creating textured artwork literally saved Jes's Life, a few years ago Jes received a diagnosis that cannot be rectified, she had to learn to navigate her new body with its limitations and chronic pain. She would lose herself in her creative ways, so her mind wasn't on the pain.

Jes hopes her artwork provides a calming environment for her viewers and that they can take a moment to pause and reflect.
